MAKSHOOF can provide Kevin Ryan with another winner in this handicap and he is nominated over the likes of Memphis Man and Pawan. The selection has only ever won at Haydock, but it would be unwise to read too much into that as he has run really well here in the past and he has been running well enough of late to suggest that he is ready to take his turn. Memphis Man could be the fly in the ointment as he won well last time when beating Haajes, who has since been out and won twice, so the form looks solid enough. Pawan loves it here and he recovered from a slow start to chase home Captain Dunne last time. This step-up in trip should suit and he could go well. Mark Johnston has his string in good form and My Gacho has got course and distance winning form so he is another to consider. However, for the winner it is hard to see beyond Makshoof.
