COTTON EYED JOE is taken to get the better of The King And I and Spanish Conquest in this handicap. The selection has plenty to recommend him as he has been running well on the turf and he has got winning form on this surface. He looks to be on a fair mark and in an open event he looks the percentage call. Spanish Conquest was declared to run on Friday but he was taken out of that race and he takes his chance here instead. He was only narrowly beaten last time and he is clearly capable of getting competitive again off his current mark. The King And I has yet to win over this trip but he has done all his winning on the all-weather and he has shaped as though he should get home over this longer distance. Three Boars has got course and distance winning form but he looks high enough in the weights at present. A tough race and Cotton Eyed Joe is the pick.
