A wide open handicap here with many in with chances on their best form but the main protagonists appear to be Crusoe, Carlton and First Maite and we will take a chance on Crusoe. The gelding was a fair third behind Quiet Reading last time out and he is better off at the weights with the second in that race First Maite here so he will be hard to beat Carlton rates the main danger he was a fair fifth in a much better race last time out but his best form is over shorter trips and he still has to conclusively prove he sees out this trip. New Diamond is another worthy of consideration despite top weight but his only win has come at Lingfield and it will be interesting to see if he acts on this ground. Of the remainder Hormuz would be hard to beat at his best but he has become disappointing of late and he will need to improve on his latest effort to defeat our selection Crusoe.
