Verdict
INDEPENDENCE beat a subsequent hurdles winner when landing a bumper at Fontwell. A penalty is negated by a conditional’s allowance and Brian Barr’s charge should go close again. Pop The Champagne ran well at Cheltenham recently having landed an all-weather bumper on her earlier debut. She’s preferred to Radetzky March while both Licia St Goustan and Bandsman Rice are related to jumps winners in France and Ceolwulf is the first foal of a winner over hurdles.
