Baldomero would probably have caught Eaglefield in another stride over this trip at Leopardstown and would have been the selection but for being drawn on the outside. Offiah looked a likely future winner when third at Dundalk but played up in the stalls on a return visit and was well beaten at odds-on. Chicago Black Hawk's third to Van Gogh at the Curragh is the benchmark but he was undoubtedly disappointing on his reappearance at Gowran. Can'thelpfallin caught the eye on his debut over the track and trip but County Wicklow never looked like winning on the same track and was well beaten. He had performed much better on his debut at Dundalk earlier when just behind GOLDEN LYRIC but, with a good draw, the latter looks the one to beat.
