A competitive handicap in which Sue Smith is expected to continue her decent form courtesy of Snowmore. She looks though to have plenty to fear from Central Committee and the potentially unexposed Midnight Creek. Sue Smith's charge is dropped back in trip after a disappointing run at Perth but the form of his second to Wagner was upheld earlier in the week when that horse finished third to Therealbandit at Stratford. Midnight Creek recently finished to Mindanao at Perth. He is clearly talented but his hurdling technique is equally frustrating. It would not be the biggest surprise if he were good enough to land this prize. Central Committee is strictly held on Market Rasen form with Snowmore. His best form occurs when there are larger fields and it would be folly to write him off on the evidence of one moderate run. Brush-A-King has performed creditably in sellers but today is a step up in class. His pilot's claim will prove crucial in today's quest. Star Councel was ridden under different tactics to take her first race for eighteen months last time out. Whether the oracle can be worked a second time remains to be seen.
