Another difficult contest for backers to try and solve with plenty of the 16-strong field holding claims. Tony Newcombe's Mufreh won well enough over course and distance a week ago but a 6lb penalty makes things tougher for him here. The Barry Hills-trained Witness seemed not to appreciate the drop to this trip, having won well over seven furlongs the time before, while Noble Locks, who has slipped to an attractive mark after several disappointing efforts over a mile may also prefer a furlong extra. Fiennes is inconsistent but capable of taking a hand off his lightweight, while Pharoah's Gold is another that could do well if running to his best. Nearly A Monarch is another with winning form over seven furlongs but, as a course and distance winner as a juvenile, he may not be adverse to a return to this trip and, off his current mark, the son of Reprimand gets the TEAMtalk vote.
