A poor contest where short list material looks to be Mr Chocolate Drop, Desert Lover and Government and the vote goes to Desert Lover. Richard Price's gelding was fourth behind Epidurian King last time out, and has been going well in defeat of late. He loves it around here, with three of his four course wins coming over this trip, and he looks sure to give a good account. Mr Chocloate Drop is another C&D scorer, having done that in selling company, and he too has recent form with Epidurian King that would give him a decent chance here, though he was beaten back in a seller last time and is no good thing. Government has enjoyed all three of his career wins at this track and has to be respected, though he was well beaten here last time despite finishing runner up. Jane Chapple-Hyam's runners are in great form, so money for Love You Always would be interesting but with little else making appeal we'll take Desert Lover to score.
