Course winners Mister Benji and Spy Gun are two to consider here, but a chance is taken with the Southwell debutant Waltzing Wizard. Alan Berry's gelding last saw the winner's enclosure in August 2002 but has shown signs of a return to form in recent efforts, in particular his latest outing at Lingfield in a similar contest to this where he finished a close up fifth behind Cold Climate. If he handles this surface he could go close at rewarding odds. Spy Gun showed tremendous improvement to win over a mile here last week and another bold bid is expected. However for the main danger it has to be Mister Benji who comfortably accounted for some seasoned performers here back in November and still appears to be well treated. Middleham Park must also be considered on pieces of form but Waltzing Wizard is just given the nod.
