In depth

Verdict

This may revolve around how good triple Flat winner, Illustrissime, turns out to be over timber on hurdling debut for Dan Skelton. He was running off a mark of 83 when last seen on the level and this isn't the most demanding starting point in his new discipline. He may well oblige but PANKO has the virtue of experience with five starts over hurdles and can concede 6lb to the new recruit. Alex Hales' charge was far from disgraced in a Class 2 contest latest, having scored previously at Class 4 level at Huntingdon. He'll appreciate the return to novice hurdling. Amangiri scored three times for German connections and is an interesting newcomer for the Bridgwater team.
