Verdict
DAAWEITZA is the call in this handicap with Tilos Gem and Eseej on the shortlist. The Brian Ellison inmate has been a little disappointing this term but the handicapper has dropped him plenty down the weights and has actually given him a sporting chance of getting his head infront. He stays 1m4f so has no issues in that regard. Mark Johnston is regularly amongst the winners so Tilos Gem will be popular. The Trans Island colt is yet to race on this surface so the market has to be closely watched. Eseej made all to win over 1m3f and is asked to defy a 6lb penalty for that success. Southern Regent is better known over hurdles though was backed on his last visit to the flat. Paul Midgeley can have his horses ready first time out so do not dismiss the lightly weighted Dispol Diva. Rated some way below her turf mark, she is likely to be primed to take advantage. Rocky's Pride has to bounce back from a below par effort at Wolverhampton. Daaweitza is the class act and can make full use of the assessor's leniency at present.
