The Tatling is just 3lbs higher than when winning this race last year but a safer option may be COLORUS whilst Nickel Silver should also be able to give a good account in a competitive race. Bill Ratcliffe is doubly represented and both of his runners have claims having finished third and fourth over course and distance last time. Colorus came out on top on that occasion and is better off at the weights as he had to race from out of the handicap that day so marginal preference is for him as he has a better track record too. The Tatling has shown no signs of being wearied by age and continues to perform with great credit. He's got two wins to his name from just five visits to this track, including in this race last year, and it would be no surprise to see him in the mix. Nickel Silver comes here in good form but is on a career high mark following his short-head defeat at Wolverhampton and could only finish in midfield on his one previous attempt at the track. Flash McGahon and Elusive Hawk are two to watch in the market but the latter has shown all of his form over further and has never even run at this trip so couldn't be backed with confidence. In contrast, the consistent Colorus looks sure to run his race and should be there or thereabouts at the business end.
