Seven line up but only three should matter, with PAINTBALL our vote to get the better of Midnight Strider and Kingston Folly. Willy Muir's colt attracted plenty of support when making his debut here and ran reasonably to take third. That effort was over six furlongs, but he showed seven to be no problem when third once more at Wolverhampton last time behind a well-bred winning newcomer. There may yet be more to come, but the standard achieved already might well be enough as this is a less competitive affair. Midnight Strider disappointed favourite backers when second over further last time. Both of Tom Dascombe's colt's runs have come at Wolverhampton and so he has it to prove on the surface and, as he was under pressure from a long way out last time before consenting to run on, this drop in trip has to be seen as a negative. Kingston Folly made his debut back in December, showing some promise at Lingfield over a mile. His breeding doesn't suggest the surface will be too much of an issue but he'll need to improve to beat our selection on the form they've shown so far. Bravalto has an official rating of 60 and represents an in-form yard, but that standard set isn't insurmountable by any means and he looks held on his course debut. Quiet Mountain has shown little at both here and Wolverhampton, Gracie's Games is rated 42 and newcomer Maigold Rose is from a yard not reknowned for debut victors. This looks set to be an interesting battle between the market principles and our hope is that Paintball comes out on top.
