      Verdict

      MANGO MUSIC might just be good enough to win this after a couple of decent efforts just lately, while Not My Choice and Elijah Pepper are the most interesting opponents. The selection has twice run well over this trip in her last three starts, including when just held on standard to slow ground in a claimer. She has performed well off much higher marks in recent times and therefore has the ability and is worth another try. Elijah Pepper has done all his winning over this trip, although none of them have been here, where he runs for the first time. David Barron knows what type of horse acts here and presumably there is a better-than-avarage chance that this gelding, who came into some form last time, will go well. Ponting has scored twice from his last three runs over course and distance, in a maiden and then a claimer, but was thrashed last time from this mark and will need to improve now, while Not My Choice should appreciate a further drop in the weights and as one who acts well on the Fibresand, he looks likely to make a bold showing. Mango Music can call the tune.
