Verdict

BERLIOS was returning from a long break when landing a track and trip maiden in March so the lack of a subsequent run shouldn't pose a problem. He's one of the few here with scope and can gain a long-distance double. It's a year since Red Stripes won and he's dropped 14lb in the ratings as a consequence. He hasn't been beaten far in his last two starts and should give a good account. Elusivity won twice here in the spring and showed a bit more dash at Wolverhampton last month while Landing Night, who finished just behind, is 1lb lower than his victory at Catterick in May though he's been beaten off this mark in his two latest starts. Mysterious Look was also close up in that Wolverhampton event and Ed McMahon's consistent filly has a chance of reversing the form with Rob Hornby's claim to aid her cause.
