Verdict

A really good contest on an otherwise mundane card. Pearl Nation beat Grey Mirage in this last year and has won off a higher mark at the track since. But he's returning from a lay-off this time round while prolific course winner Dubai Hills won this in 2013 but was no match for Pearl Nation here back in March. CORDITE (NAP) was beaten less than a length when fourth in this grade at Chelmsford last time having tumbled 14lb down the weights this year. A chance is taken on Mike Appleby's charge handling the surface with Silvestre De Sousa taking over the reins today. Justice Well is at home in this grade but is another unknown quantity on the Fibresand as is the progressive Westwood Hoe, a winner in heavy going at Doncaster last month.
