A mare's-only maiden hurdle with just seven runners. It is hard to evaluate Springfield Gilda's form and she is bred to stay well (she's a half-sister by Scallywag to Springfield Scally who stays three miles and won well at Chepstow on Saturday). Ragu showed promise by being placed in three bumpers last season and would not have to be exceptional to play a leading part in this race despite making her hurdling debut. Phar Breeze steps back in trip following two efforts over further but her form has thus far been modest. Three placed efforts give Hi Lily a chance in a race that will not take a lot of winning. She reverts to hurdling after pulling up on her chasing debut last time an ought to play a part here. Derry Ann's third behind Mounsey Castle in his last bumper effort reads quite well in the context of this race and it would be no surprise to see her run well. She gets the TEAMtalk vote.
