        Verdict

        Record Breaker finally returned to the winners' enclosure when running out an easy winner on fast ground at Pontefract a week ago. He'll probably start a short price to follow-up, but has yet to win in 11 starts on the all-weather and PERSIAN PERIL could prove better value. The latter beat today's rival Taikoo over 1m3f here when last successful and can race off a 4lb lower mark today. By contrast, Sunny Spells is 8lb higher than when scoring over C&D in December, while Calculating still looks a shade high in the weights judged on his recent placed efforts.
