A competitive claimer in which only Ten Spot can be ignored; the pin comes down on NAWAMEES. David Evans claimed Nawamees for 10,000 guineas back in September and he has since won a third of that back in prize money alone. He was a 10/1 winner last time out when he beat Rawdon at this track and he is now 2lb better off at today's weights. The last-named has won since in comprehensive fashion and so the form stands up. Gay Kelleway's charge won on his first start for the yard when he showed little of the recalcitrance that he has displayed in the past. If he is in the same mood then he may be hard to beat. Bois Joli was well-fancied just a few days ago at Kempton but bumped into a good one; she is still of interest if she handles this surface. My Friend Fritz has a little to find at these weights and needs to improve on his last run at the track over a longer trip. He needs to forget about that last run and so we will return to Nawamees to win again.
