CAPTAIN CAVENDISH is selected ahead of Mill Pond and Klandester. The selection showed a huge amount of progress to win at Wolverhampton last month and seems to have been sparked into life by the fitting of blinkers. It is interesting he sports a visor today but, having impressed with the way he overcame trouble in running, the son of Captain Rio appears to already have a professional attitude. Mill Pond has a bit of speed in the locker and goes handicapping on a fair mark. His trainer should never be underestimated and, despite having poor form figures, it is noteworthy he comes here instead of going to Great Leighs later in the week. Klandester has a similar profile and will again be wearing a tongue tie in a bid to boost his cause. However, he may be worth a shot at sprinting, so all would not be lost where he to fall short of the mark today. Therefore, it can pay to stick with a definite improver, with nothing fitting the bill better than last-time-out winner Captain Cavendish.
