In depth

Verdict

Most have been competing on this surface including BLACK SALT, who has raced twice over track and trip now and won both times. David Barron’s charge is 8lb higher today but scored by over three lengths last time and gets the vote to go in again. Bellevarde beat Jack The Truth a length over course and distance last week but had earlier finished behind third-placed Tan here and the latter went on to score at Lingfield. He looks the biggest threat to the selection given The Right Choice only won a claiming race here last month, though prolific course winner Crosse Fire is back on a winning mark having placed over the minimum trip a week ago.
