CHAPEL FLOWERS can take the finale to complete a hat-trick, but the list of dangers are headed by joint top-weight Simple Jim and Bret Maverick. The selection looks the pick of Tim Vaughan's two runners, the other being Raider of The East. The previous successes came within the space of a week at the end of last month in his first runs from the yard, and he looks one to stay on the right side of. Simple Jim has won three of his last five runs, but goes jumping for the first time since the spring; he won a conditionals' race in March over a slightly shorter trip, but he's been inconsistent when hurdling. Bret Maverick landed a 9 to 1 gamble last time out at Bangor to shed his maiden tag at the 24th time of asking; again, inconsistency could be his middle name. With respect to connections, there seems a lot of deadwood in this contest, but setting the standard, and carrying our support, is Chapel Flowers.
