close up, chased leader 3f out, ridden to lead over 1f out, ran on
raced mid-division, ridden 4f out, soon outpaced
close up, ridden and hampered 3f out, soon weakened
tracked leader, ridden 3f out, weakened over 1f out
slowly into stride, headway on outside 4f out, hung right from 3f out, soon weakened
led over 5f, ridden and kept on same pace
chased leaders, ridden halfway, kept on one pace
dwelt, always in rear
steadied start, held up, headway over 3f out, ridden 2f out, chased winner 1f out, unable to quicken inside final furlong
tracked leader, ridden and edged left 3f out, kept on one pace
held up, ridden and headway on outside from over 1f out, nearest finish
very slowly away, always behind
held up in rear, ridden from over 2f out, never nearer
Wares Home drops to banded company for the first time and can land this weak event from La Calera and Royal Windmill. Karl Burke's gelding was rated as high as 67 during the summer, but following numerous unplaced efforts is now reduced to this level of competition. However he beat some decent enough horses when a close third to Fort McHenry in August and a repeat of that effort should see him easily dispose of these. La Calera put up her best performance for some time when finishing a close up fourth behind Elsinora in a similar race to this at Yarmouth and should make her presence felt here. Meanwhile Royal Windmill comes into the argument on his summer form, which included a close third in a Redcar handicap. Chorus and Savrenake Brave are two that cannot be dismissed lightly, but Wares Home is better than this level and is a confident choice
