In depth

Verdict

Wireless Operator was engaged at Huntingdon yesterday but even if he ran here would still only likely to be playing for a place behind ROCKSTAR RONNIE. Dan Skelton's charge won a point-to-point on his only start between the flags and though well beaten into second on his hurdling debut he lost a shoe and put matters right with a comprehensive victory at Kelso. Christian Williams' pair Jony Max and Powerful Position have both won between the flags and probably need further while Lockdown Leader, after showing a bit of potential in a Newbury bumper, couldn't handle heavy ground on his hurdling bow at Hereford.
