Verdict
Song Of Vala gets the nomination here ahead of Arran Scout, Bijou Dan, Golden Bankes and Seldemosa, while one or two of the others should be watched out for in the betting. Song Of Vala and Arran Scout were separated by just half-a-length when they met over Wolverhampton's extended mile last time and, meeting on the same terms today, both are given chances, with our vote going to Song Of Vala. Given that Bijou Dan was only half-a-length behind the pair on that occasion, well, he too has to be given a chance as that race probably rates as the best form on offer in this contest. Turning to the others. If they have cured Devil's Bite's blood vessel problems then he could be given a chance. Seldemosa's second at Wolverhampton on her debut has since been boosted by the third running well, so she is afforded respect, while Golden Bankes showed some improvement here last time and the two-furlong step up in trip could well suit again. Big Mystery has so far failed to live up to her breeding, a statement that also applies to the 450,000 guineas purchase Alqaayid. Watch out for the likes of Stella Marais and Bobby Charles in the betting. The latter made late headway on his sole start to date, on the Turf at Nottingham. Overall, though, we will give Song Of Vala another chance to earn some winning brackets.
