In depth

Verdict

Kodicat is regularly thereabouts but rarely wins and debuts on the surface along with Wild Flower, who bids for a hat-trick raised a further 4lb for winning at Brighton. Dandy Highwayman and Sir Hector are back on winning marks while Rock Sound debuts for a new yard on his first start for over a year but FIRST EXCEL gets a token vote in a poor contest. Roy Bowring’s charge saves his best for this venue, having won three times here in the past, and will be sharper for last month’s return from a lay-off.
