SADLER'S STAR would probably have lost his maiden tag over hurdles last time out but for a heavy fall at the last, but this could be his day, and he's selected ahead of Plane Painter and Viel Gluck. The good ground should be a plus for Alan King's runner, previously disappointing when with Brendan Powell. He'd started life on the flat in Germany with a successful career, and he certainly seems to have this sort of race in his sights. We wouldn't be taking too short a price though given his fall last time. Plane Painter used to run on the flat for Mark Johnston, and this is just his fourth run over the sticks. Again, the fast going will help in what's his first outing since December, which was his best to date as he gets to grips with jumping. Viel Gluck is the only interest on the card for Ferdy Murphy and Evan Whillans. Yet to be placed, he's been tried over a variety of trips, but maybe his best effort to date came over similar to this, albeit in testing conditions. A tricky one to work out, and any market moves should be noted, but we think the most likely winner is Sadler's Star.
