FORTYSECOND STREET is given the vote over Panthera Leo and Risk. Howard Johnson's 5-year-old has not done a lot wrong so far and he was only narrowly beaten by Livvy Inn at Kelso last time. He would ideally be suited by slightly further than this, but he is fully effective over this trip and he will go on the ground so he looks to have rock solid prospects. Panthera Leo looks the main danger and he was entitled to need the run on his return from a break at Musselburgh last time. He is more exposed than our selection but if he doesn't bounce today then he should be thereabouts at the finish. Risk fell on his seasonal return, but he would have surely won that race comfortably at Stratford as he was travelling much the best when he came down. If he suffers no ill-effects from that run then he would be a serious player, although he does have more on his plate today. The Kealshore Kid is a fairly reliable performer but he is fully exposed and with Howard Johnson's runners coming into form a safer bet looks to be Fortysecond Street.
