    Verdict

Cleveland Way and Aboustar have recent winning form and have to be respected, but Safranine deserves to win a race of this nature and gets our vote. Ann Stokell's eight-year-old has gone close on numerous occasions this winter, including a very decent effort when just touched off by subsequent winner Zorn. A repeat of that effort would easily be good enough today. Cleveland Way hit winning form last time beating Orchestration at Wolverhampton. This event doesn't look any stronger and he should be there or thereabouts. Meanwhile Aboustar is a course and distance winner who wasn't disgraced last time when just over two lengths behind Radlett Lady, also over course and distance. Polar Haze and Emperor Cat are also worth a mention, but Safranine has the ability to beat these and gets our vote.
