Verdict
An ordinary maiden where the betting market will give its usual clues regarding stable confidence behind a few of these. However, it may be worth chancing Vengerov, who showed enough ability on the turf last season to suggest that he has a race of this nature within him somewhere along the line. Tonto and Kings Rock head the list of dangers out of the rest with experience, while strong support for Mrs Brown will obviously be interesting and the daughter of Royal Applause is one to bear in mind for a saver option. However, it is unlikely that any chances will be taken with Sir Mark Prescott's charge and it could pay to look elsewhere for a fair price as she still has plenty of learning to do. This brings us back to Vengerov, who has fared better than his form figures to date would suggest. The son of Piccolo put in a respectable performance in a much better race than this when he was last seen out and Michael Bell's colt need only run to that level to reward each way support today.
