The first division of the maiden looks set to be a potential minefield for punters featuring mostly disappointing types. The top-rated on official ratings is Classic Example on 74 and he may be the one to side with after his recent course debut. Horses always tend to improve considerably for their dirt debut and he was not disgraced last time out after running too freely in the early stages of the contest. The drop in trip should suit and he gets the TEAMtalk vote. Jazan's turf form would give her a major chance here and she looks the danger to the selection, however she is yet to race on this surface and whether she will handle the conditions has to be a major question. Second Minister could go well at a very decent each-way price, as again although this is his all-weather debut, this represents a significant drop in class and his turf form puts him right in there. In contrast Taggerty is thoroughly exposed and is a maiden after 32 starts. She is proven on the surface so a place would not be out of the question. Young Collier has shown little so far and is the type to do better in handicaps.
