AAMAN is taken to land the opener at the main expense of Lady Pilot and Merrion Tiger. The selection is turned out quickly after his win over this course and distance last time out when he beat Mayta Capac. Serena Brotherton is in the plate today which is a big plus and he won in such convincing fashion that it is hard to look beyond him. Lady Pilot is a course and distance winner and she ran a sound race to finish third behind Prince Charlemagne at Lingfield last time. She was a little unlucky that day as she hit the rail as she prepared to make her challenge, so she could be worth another chance. Merrion Tiger is an interesting runner as he has won three of his six starts on the all-weather and he wasn't beaten far behind Dart here last time. He is upped in trip today but that should not be a problem and he has to be respected. Bright Sparky hails from a shrewd yard who like a tilt at the ring so any market support for him could be worth noting, especially as his sole win on the flat came at this track at this time last year. An open event to get proceedings underway and the vote is given to Aaman.
