Verdict

LETHAL STEPS, placed in five of his seven starts over hurdles, is never going to get a better chance to break his duck. Gordon Elliott’s grey was thought good enough to run at the Cheltenham Festival and should outclass this bunch. Cobaltic was just beaten in a bunch finish at Wexford and looks the danger with likely more to come. Pacific Fleet didn’t win on the Flat but was placed three times and it’s not inconceivable that he’ll make a hurdler.
