Lambrini Bianco is the pick, with Bob's Buster, Midnight Gunner, Aston and Rare Society all worth a mention in an open event. This promises to be the best race on an otherwise very moderate card, and one in which Lambrini Bianco can keep up his consistent record to gain yet another victory. The eight-year-old has already been successful round here, having won off a mark of 69 in April, and has since gone up around two-stone on the back of some solid performances. It is hard to knock his form, and with ground and trip to suit, he looks all set to beat the handicapper again. Bob's Buster has not won since June, but the form of his Southwell victory has been franked plenty of times, particularly by Il Pensoroso. A course winner in the past, he just needs to find some extra stamina to take a hand. Midnight Gunner will stay, and is lightly-raced this term, but at the age of 12 has no improvement in him surely, while Aston on the other hand, has his time to come. Rare Society has plenty of weight for what he has achieved, but at least his claimer can make use of his 7lb allowance. Lambrini Bianco is racing up the weights, but is still the one to beat.
