Verdict

Going Concern is still 5lb higher than his last winning mark but has been showing a bit more lately so goes on the short-list. Special Catch is only 2lb higher than when scoring at Ayr in October and represents last year’s winning yard. Shadows Lengthen is potentially well treated but does best when there is no give in the ground whereas the mare Caraline needs the mud. RAKTIMAN clearly didn’t stay in the North Yorkshire Grand National earlier this month and this is a more suitable test. He has probably fallen to a mark off which he should be capable of winning.
