Verdict

Just five line up for the feature race on the card, with Gatorade selected to defy topweight against Iron Express and El Cordobes. The New Zealand-bred, a winner for Graham McCourt in the past, was having his first run for Richard Guest when scoring at Southwell recently. Patiently ridden by Henry Oliver, he was always going to win and a small rise in the weights should not stop him from making a bold bid to follow up here. Iron Express put in an improved effort at Cartmel, having been pulled up on his two previous starts, but the drop back in trip is a bit of a worry. El Cordobes is paying the penalty for a couple of victories last year and really needs to come down the weights before warranting support. As for Extra Proud and Bengal Boy, they look up against it and Gatorade is the one to be on.
