A cracking little contest and BENNY BE GOOD is taken to augment his already outstanding track record. Four wins and two places have been claimed from six outings here and it's hard to find a reason why Hollo Ladies should reverse placings from when the pair met here last time. Indeed, Benny Be Good looked better than ever and he can also repel the challenges of Film Festival and Sir Tantallus Hawk who fought out a stirring finish at Doncaster earlier in the campaign. There should be little between them again, whilst Monsieur Jourdian posted an improved effort when scoring at Kelso over the weekend.
Benny Be Good 11-4fav (11-5) Held up in touch in 4th, went 2nd before 11th, led 12th, clear before 2 out, easily, won at Sedgefield 2m 5f nov chs (4) gf beating Hollo Ladies (11-5) by 4l, 8 ran.
Hollo Ladies (IRE) 7-2 (11-5) Held up in touch and keen, left 2nd 12th, soon chasing winner, kept on from 2 out, no impression, 2nd of 8, 4l behind Benny Be Good (11-5) at Sedgefield 2m 5f nov chs (4) gf.
Film Festival (USA) 4-1 (11-7) With leader, led before 10th, headed and pecked badly and unseated rider 12th, in a race won by Benny Be Good (11-5) at Sedgefield 2m 5f nov chs (4) gf, 8 ran.
Sir Tantallus Hawk 7-2 (11-7) Held up towards rear, went poor 3rd before 2 out, never dangerous, 3rd of 6, 49l behind Tarablaze (11-7) at Bangor 3m nov chs (4) gd in Mar.
Cranky Corner 4-1 (11-7) Prominent, reminders after 6th and lost place, pushed along before 9th, in touch when badly hampered and brought down 3 out, in a race won by Tranos (10-0) at Sedgefield 2m hcp chs 0-115 (4) gf, 7 ran.
Monsieur Jourdain (IRE) 11-4 (10-8) Led to 12th, chased leader, pushed along before 15th, kept on from last, lead towards finish, driven out, won at Kelso 2m 6f nov hcp chs (3) gf beating Frankie Anson (11-7) by 1/2l, 4 ran.
