        Verdict

A particularly poor contest filled with mainly disappointing types and, for punters, this should come with a government health warning attached. For those inclined to have a bet, Cristophe is put forward as a selection in the hope that he can repeat the form of his close second in similar company over course and distance last time. The son of kris appeared to appreciate the drop in class and, with ground conditions to suit, he should give another good account. Alternatives look thin on the ground but Sovereign State and Mon Performer both have the form in the book to suggest they are no forlorn hopes despite some moderate efforts of late while Big Wheel has run poorly over fences but has claims on the pick of his hurdling form if fit following a four-month absence.
