A very poor contest where it should pay not to get heavily involved. The first two to put a line through are Profiler (who hasn't completed in seven of his last nine starts) and Pharbeitfrome, who similarly has failed to complete in three of his last four and probably won't like it this heavy. The latter comment also applies to Italian Counsel, who has been well beaten in his two chases so far to add to that. Of the remainder Nephite would be the best on his day, but those days don't come around too often. Although he loves it soft, he does still look exposed and his yard are out of form at the moment, so he is overlooked. Red Alert Man has a huge pull at the weights for an eight length beating here by Nephite in November, when the pair finished third and fourth behind Del Trotter. However, his last run was a stinker and he has to prove his welbeing once again here. Therefore by process of elimination as much as anything, our vote here goes to Binny Bay. The mare has been placed twice over course and distance in similar ground this season, and though she looks a bit one-paced a 1lb drop will help and she won't have to break the track record to land this prize.
