Verdict

Veteran Heez A Steel won this last year but has looked ready for the pipe and slippers in his runs this season. DEBT TO SOCIETY and Snuker filled the places 12 months ago and Richard Ford's course and distance winner can go one better this time as he was first past the post in a subsequently-voided race here in November and is only a pound higher. Harris was another first past the post last time only to lose the race. That was over hurdles at Catterick and he's better handicapped over fences so can't be ruled out. Gentle George has won over 3m2f but looked in the handicapper's grip when third at Chepstow.
