All Rock Hard, Wild Power and Ambushed look to be the three to concentrate on here, and we will take All Rock Hard to break his duck. Richard Guest's six-year-old has put up some of his best efforts in defeat when the ground is on the quick side, including when second in a maiden chase at Hexham in May. His form in a 10 length defeat to Manoram at Worcester last time out reads well in the context of this race, with his conqueror having come out and run well since, so with one or two things to recommend him we think he can get off the mark this time. Wild Power makes his debut over fences here and Ian Williams' runners at the track are always respected. Rated 104 over hurdles, if he can convert that sort of ability to the bigger obstacles then he can have a big say in the outcome here. Conditions will suit and do not expect him to be far away. Of the remainder, Ambushed already has chase form at this sort of trip this season, when fourth and then third in successive runs at Hexham in May. Admittedly, he has struggled a bit since then both over the sticks and on the Flat, and he does prefer genuine good ground, but he has ability and if he shows a modicum of it here then he could be thereabouts. For the winner though, we return to All Rock Hard.
