A fairly competitive event on paper, with the likes of Sun King, Take Heed, Stormy Beech, Lion Guest and Tiger Talk not out of it, but a chance is taken with Irish Distinction. The stable of Tom George has been ticking over nicely of late, and the five-year-old gave notice that he was coming to hand when third at Taunton recently. A winner on fast ground at York in October for Alan Jarvis, he fell two out in the race won by Orangerie on his timber debut for new connections at Cheltenham and went a bit off the boil afterwards. With the ground now in his favour, he can start to repay his supporters. Mary Reveley's team seem out of sorts at present which puts us off the chance of topweight Sun King despite his solid form in the past, but both Stormy Beech and Tiger Talk, are course and distance winners and can go well, indeed the latter took this 12 months ago. Take Heed has a light weight and a useful jockey in the saddle and must not be discounted, but Irish Distinction will do for us.
