held up in rear, outpaced from 3 out, never on terms
tracked front pair, headway to lead after 3 out, driven clear between last 2, ridden out flat, kept on
tracked leader, pushed along in 3rd after 3 out, chased winner when went left next, soon ridden, kept on same pace, no impression
mistake 1st, led, not fluent 3 out, soon ridden and headed, one pace next, no chance with front pair between last 2
There may only be four runners in this but Rough Justice is hard to fancy, despite first-time blinkers. THE BACKUP PLAN (NAP) is getting plenty of weight from likely market rivals Degooch and Dursey Sound and can take advantage. Donald McCain's was twice successful over shorter trips here around this time last year, once off a 3lb higher mark than today's. Degooch was held up to get the trip last time at Bangor and never figured but this is a more suitable test and he looks the danger.
Dursey Sound (IRE) 20-1 (11-1) Mid-division, headway after 4th, ridden and lost place before 7th, behind 3 out, pulled up before 2 out, at Worcester 2m 4f hcp (3) gd in Jun.
Degooch (IRE) 10-1 (11-5) Not always fluent in rear, headway after 3 out, carried right before last, hung left and no impression flat, 4th of 10, 8 3/4l behind Schindler's Prince (10-0) at Bangor 3m hcp (3) gd in Jul.
Rough Justice (IRE) 33-1 (11-12) Held up behind, blundered 4 out, soon weakened, pulled up next, at Bangor 3m hcp (4) gs in Aug.
The Backup Plan (IRE) 11-8fav (11-8) Tracked leader, led 7th, mistake next, headed 9th, in touch, led again after 3 out, ridden and headed approaching last, kept on, 2nd of 7, 1/2l behind Ballycool (11-8) at Bangor 2m 4f hcp (4) gs in Aug.
