Mark Johnston has provided the last two winners of this race and Pegasus Lad has to be given a leading chance here but Sehoy and Marching Time have both been given big race entries and may be able to lower his colours; we'll nominate the Stoute runner. He's a son of Sadler's Wells out of a Gone West mare who is a sister to Zafonic and he has been given an entry in the Champagne Stakes. The market will prove to be informative but he's certainly bred to be useful. Sehoy has an entry in the same juvenile contest and also in the Royal Lodge. He has a decent American pedigree and John Gosden's two year olds have been in great form this month. Pegasus Lad shaped with promise on debut and then finished in midfield in the Chesham Stakes. He ran to about the same level of form when firmly put in his place back at Ascot on his third start and looks vulnerable to an above average performer. Itlaaq is another newcomer to bear in mind and Beraimi may prove better than he showed on debut; the market should paint a clearer picture but we'll take a chance with Marching Time.
