In depth

Verdict

URBAN VIOLET (NAP) has picked up a 6lb penalty for last week's very impressive victory over 1m1f here on soft ground where she led at this trip. It's no surprise that she turns out quickly as she's been hit with a 12lb rise so a quick double looks on the cards. Final Watch had shown a bit of potential before making a successful handicap debut over 7f at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago and the longer trip won't be a problem. Abrag has run on three different all-weather surfaces in his four starts, scoring at Southwell for which he's been raised 6lb, while Echo Beach had finished close up three times before getting off the mark at Kempton in November and makes his handicap debut. General Lee, Grand Scheme and the lightly-raced maiden Encourage are others to note.
