In depth

Verdict

Ranch Hand completed a Lingfield Polytrack double when landing the 2m All-Weather Marathon Championship, when he had the favourite Rainbow Dreamer 2 lengths behind, before finding Group 3 company over 1m4f at Newbury too much for him. Lismore won four races for Sir Mark Prescott but at a much lower level though she'll love the conditions and wouldn't be travelling here without prospects. OCEAN WIND's second to Stradivarius in the Sagaro Stakes at Ascot was another cracking effort and he had Nayef Road half-a-length behind. The latter, runner-up to Stradivarius in the Gold Cup and Goodwood Cup last summer, has since run poorly at York and needs to bounce back.
