Verdict

A wide-open contest with most of these unexposed. Makram and Zegalo have won handicaps while Grove Ferry and CEMHAAN ran well at Lingfield on their respective handicap debuts. But the latter did particularly well to finish a close-up fourth from an outside draw and the Gosden colt should make a bold bid on that showing. Jean Baptiste drops in class and is not out of this while Windsor winner First Winter was beaten by Matthew Flinders in novice company over 1m2f earlier. Naval Commander and Raaeq are other novice winners and Pride Of America finished runner-up in a conditions' race in France last time.
