Verdict

THE WARRIOR (NAP) has only won once in 16 starts but this is the lowest-grade race he's ever run in and wasn't beaten far at Lingfield last time. He can give a good account at a fair price while Hail Clodius has been gradually coming down the ratings and should be taking advantage soon. The latter holds Cordite on their recent run at Epsom but Jack Of Diamonds is the only course and distance winner in the line-up and has been racing over shorter trips recently. Ice Royal was having his first start on Turf when a staying-on fourth over 7f at Ascot and tackles this trip for the first time, as does Bernie's Boy, who also ran over 7f last time and was going on at the finish.
