Verdict

A real puzzle for punters and no Ryan Moore available to help with the pecking order of Sir Michael Stoute's four newcomers. Debating Society and Tetonic are bred to be best over middle-distances but Samuel Pickwick and Hartside have plenty of speed in their pedigrees. The betting should provide clues regarding their chances, but a tentative vote goes to WATHEEQ, who is related to a host of winners and is entered in the leading juvenile races. Newnton Lodge's dam is a half-sister to Zafonic, better is expected from Alshmemi and to complicate matters further, Richard Hannon has won the last two renewals at a big price and runs two today, with the once-raced Juvenal preferred.
