In depth

Verdict

Land Of Winter, a three-times winner on the level, should be capable of better as his fourth at Huntingdon in December has worked out well. Timeless Beauty easily won a mares’ handicap at Ayr last month but is 10lb higher now. Conkwell Legend has placed in all of his career starts to date and was well backed last time at Fontwell and Gary Moore’s pair, Sopran Thor and Dorking Lad, are others for a long shortlist. Delgany Monarch is another worth a market check but HONOR GREY bounced back from a below-par effort at Carlisle to chase home a useful novice, rated 127, at Ayr. Ben Pauling’s charge has been raised just 2lb for that effort and looks well treated on his handicap debut
